Collusion Illusion

In case you just got back from the Moon (which is part of Mars), Trump admitted to George Stephanopoulis that he would collude with a foreign entity to get dirt on his opponent.
He also said the FBI director was wrong when he (FBI guy) said he (Trump) should report any contact.
And now the Chairman of the FEC has weighed in.

“Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election,“ wrote Ellen Weintraub, chairwoman of the FEC. “This is not a novel concept.“

Then there’s the interview with George Stephanopoulis:

Stephanopoulis,

“Somebody comes up and says, ‘hey, I have information on your opponent,’ do you call the FBI?”

Trump,

“I’ll tell you what, I’ve seen a lot of things over my life. I don’t think in my whole life I’ve ever called the FBI. In my whole life. You don’t call the FBI. You throw somebody out of your office, you do whatever you do,…Oh, give me a break – life doesn’t work that way.”

Stephanopoulis,

The FBI director said that is what should happen,”  (referring to comments FBI Director Christopher Wray made during congressional testimony last month, when he told lawmakers “the FBI would want to know about” any foreign election meddling.)

Trump,

“The FBI director is wrong, because frankly it doesn’t happen like that in life,”

Seriously? Trump just said that the Director of the FBI doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Oh, and about Illusion. It comes down to this:

Trump is under the illusion that the Rule of Law doesn’t apply to him. Despite the fact that Meuller was constrained by legal precedent not to indict a sitting president. He clearly stated in his report that the report did NOT exonerate Trump on obstruction.
Was there obstruction? You betcha. A fact pointed out by several former US Prosecutors.
And another point of the illusion, Remember when Rudy Giulliani said,

Truth isn’t truth.

Oh well.
