Trump must think his supporters are too stupid to know why they support him, so has to tell them why.
The Trump campaign recently created a website which is a guide to “How To Win An Argument With Your Liberal Relatives.” The URL address is…wait for it…
SnowFlakeVictory.com
ICYMI, snowflake is a pejorative moniker for all the commie-pinko, socialist, left wing, radical, treasonous libtards sometimes known as never-Trumpers. Or put another way, anybody who criticizes Trump. It’s a typical ad hominem frequently used by Trump. (attack the messenger)
And consider this:
In addition, the talking points are simple generalizations. Because of this simplicity, a simple “why?” could shut down the argument. Why? Because if you have to be told what to say, more than likely, you have no idea why.
The first talking point is:
The Trump Economy is Strong
Notice it says “Trump Economy.” Another instance of Trump taking credit for something he had nothing to do with. The economy has been strong since 2011!
The economy is anything but great. For most of us, the economy is anywhere from middling to a daily struggle to make ends meet. People are working two to three jobs to get by, wages are essentially flat, and layoffs are on the uptick. – Source The Daily Beast, “When Donald Trump Brags About the Economy, Here’s What Democrats Should Say”
By economy, do they mean the stock market? But the stock market or DOW is NOT an indicator of the economy. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is.
The current third quarter 2019 GDP is 2.1% down from 2.4% for 2017. (these numbers indicate the percentage of increase)
But remember that trump promised during his campaign, “We’re bringing it (the GDP) from 1 percent up to 4 percent. And I actually think we can go higher than 4 percent. I think you can go to 5 percent or 6 percent.” LOL Never happened.
BTW, according to Forbes, 465 of the Fortune 500 companies plowed a record ONE TRILLION DOLLARS of their Tax Cut into stock buybacks. The result: inflated stock prices and higher dividends.
Oh, and most Americans do NOT own stocks. Robert Reich, former Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, wrote for The Guardian that almost 80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
Yes the unemployment rate is at a near historic low, 3.6%, but that’s down from only 4.8% when Trump took office.
When Barrack Obama took office, it was at 7.2%. That’s an improvement of 2.4% whereas Trump’s number was down only 1.2% since 2017.
The Trump administration has inherited a strong economy that started in 2011.
But all this information may be too much for a Trump supporter to handle. Oh well.
Second point:
It is important to enforce immigration law & Build the Wall
When Trump announced his candidacy for president on the escalator of Trump Tower, he showed his hand when he said Mexico was sending us rapists and criminals. This bigoted comment aside, countries do NOT send us immigrants. They come here because they want to, not because they’re forced.
Immigration laws ARE being enforced. Trump wants to scare you into thinking that they are not; that the Democrats want open borders, and our country is being invaded. This is a crock!
And don’t forget the fact that through Trump’s Zero Tolerance Policy, over 5400 children have been separated from their families or a single parent. In the beginning of the enforcement, children were PUT IN CAGES!!!!!
This was a monumental human rights catastrophe of Trump’s own creation. It was sinful, unchristian and immoral.
Not one foot of new wall has been built despite Trump continually lying about it.
The fact is that Trump is diverting $3.6 billion from Department of Defense (DOD) budget. Money that was allocated BY CONGRESS for military construction projects some of which were schools for military dependents.
And hey, don’t forget that MEXICO WAS GOING TO PAY FOR THE WALL!
Landowners at the border aren’t too happy about the fact that the government may have to use eminent domain to seize their property for the wall.
Third point:
Other countries are finally paying their fair share
This is probably a reference to NATO, the 70 some year old alliance in which Trump continually berates its members. These are our allies for God’s sake. Putin would like nothing better than to see NATO break up, and Trump seems to be helping.
It is, however true, that only seven countries pay the 2% of their GDP on NATO defense.
Trump also has no clue how NATO works. He thinks the other members pay the US. Wrong.
Forth point:
Trump is improving our trade deals
Not necessarily.
In the recent trade negotiations with China, any language concerning Chinese subsidies to their major businesses or state owned companies has disappeared. Subsidies are China’s major tool to undercut US markets and drive down prices. China doesn’t seem to be backing down from this position, and it’s likely Trump will cave.
The trade war with China has hurt American farmers, especially soybeans. China, who is the biggest customer, has stopped buying soybeans.
So what did Trump do? A $16 billion bailout. This is, by the way, socialism. More on that later.
Farm bankruptcies are up 24% from 2018.
Another lie Trump has repeated over and over again shows his complete ignorance on how tariffs work, or he thinks you’re so dumb that you’ll believe him. He says China is paying the tariffs to the U.S. This is patently absurd. The tariffs are a tax payed by the American consumers even you Trump supporters. Duh!
Fifth point:
Trump approach to healthcare much better than Dems, who would kill employer-provided healthcare
What approach? During his campaign, he promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare on day one in office. NEVER HAPPENED.
In addition, he never said what he was going to replace it with. An editorial in The New York Times outlined Trump’s agenda:
- Obama built it.
- I broke it.
- You fix it.
Even Trump himself admitted that he didn’t realize health care was so complicated.
Yup! It is.
The loss of employer-provided healthcare reference here comes from the idea of Bernie Sander’s single payer scheme. It remains to be seen what the Democrats will come up with once they’ve nominated their candidate. There’s no consensus that employer provided health care will be killed.
The important thing is to come up with a meaningful plan to cover people with pre-existing conditions.
Trump likes to lie to his supporters that Obamacare is unconstitutional. In National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruled the ACA to be constitutional.
However, the Tax Cut Bill of 2017 removed the mandate clause from the ACA making it more liable to be challenged. And indeed, this is what happened.
In Texas v. Azar and Texas v. U.S. the Solicitor General of the U.S. did not defend the ACA in a lower circuit court which resulted in the court ruling it unconstitutional.
If SCOTUS affirms the lower court’s decision, it is estimated that about 20 million people with pre-existing conditions will lose health care coverage.
If Trump says he will protect people with pre-existing conditions, he’s lying.
Proof: the only protection that people with pre-existing conditions have is in the ACA. The GOP has NO plan in place to protect them.
Sixth point:
Trump is expanding his reach to beyond just his base – Women, Latinos & Black support is growing
There is no evidence that their support is growing. Why would it? His misogynism and bigotry/racism is well documented.
Case in point: He told four U.S. Congresswomen of color to go back where they came from despite the fact that three of them were born in the U.S.
Trump has spent much of the last four years engaged in racially charged attacks, going after
minority members of Congress, claiming “no human being” would want to live in rat “infested,”
majority-minority Baltimore and claiming that there were “very fine people on both sides” of the
deadly Charlottesville protest against white supremacists.
Do you think these people will forget this?
Seventh point:
Trump tax cuts fueled the economy, Dems would raise taxes on everybody by
repealing the Trump tax cuts
Not true.
The tax cuts have failed to produce. In fact, more than 60% of the tax savings went to people in the top 20% of the income ladder, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center. The measure also slashed the corporate tax rate by 40%.
The top 1 percent will ultimately receive over 80 percent of the benefits of the Trump/GOP 2017 tax cut.
“It was unbelievable at the time, and it’s proven to be absolutely untrue,” said Maya
MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. “The tax cuts were never going to — and have not — come anywhere close to paying for themselves.”
“Not surprising, if you cut taxes, you get less in revenues,” MacGuineas said. “And what we’ve been doing at the same time is we’ve been increasing spending. And no surprise, our deficit has exploded.”
The federal deficit this year (2019) was $984 billion — an extraordinary figure at a time when the country is not mired in recession or widespread war.
Long time advocates of less and more responsible spending, the GOP has been anything but. The 2017 Tax Cut Bill will add approximately another ONE TRILLION to the deficit.
Who the hell is going to pay for this?
ALL OF US ARE!
Eighth point:
There was no quid pro quo, Democrats always obsessed with impeachment
There was.
E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sondland testified to Congress under oath that yes, there was a quid pro quo between Mr. Trump and the president of Ukraine; and “everyone was in the loop” about it, including the vice president, the secretary of state and the White House acting chief of staff.
His truthful testimony may have been influenced by the fact that long-time political trickster and Trump confidant Roger Stone was just convicted of lying to Federal authorities and will be GOING TO JAIL!
Read the transcript is Trump’s defense.
We did, Donald, and even if you actually did not use the words quid pro quo, it’s implied.
Then Donald, you never, never said you were concerned about any corruption in the Ukraine. You said, “ the other thing, there’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you could do with the Attorney General (Barr) would be great.”
You were asking for dirt on a political opponent.
Take note that when Trump lies or makes stuff up, he often tries to validate what he’s claiming by saying, “ a lot of people.”
And…
The head of the Federal Election Commission released a statement reiterating, emphatically, that foreign assistance is illegal in U.S. elections. “Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election,“ wrote Ellen Weintraub, chairwoman of the FEC. “This is not a novel concept.“
This is why you were impeached.
Ninth point:
Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid from Ukraine unless they fired the prosecutor looking into the company where his son worked. That has NOT been debunked.
What is false about this is that Shokin’s office had investigated Burisma, but the probe focused on a period before Hunter Biden joined the company, according to the Ukraine anti-corruption bureau.
It was the Foreign Policy of the United States along with European diplomats, the International Monetary Fund and other international organizations, that Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin must go. Shokin, who was the epitome of corruption in The Ukraine, was no longer actively pursuing an investigation into Burisma or Hunter Biden for that matter when he was fired.
Unlike Rudy Giuliani, Vice President Biden was acting as a representative of the United States. And unlike Trump, Biden was not looking for dirt on any political rival. He was looking to pressure The Ukraine government to dump Shokin.
Tenth Point:
BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALISM
A $16 billion farm bailout IS socialism.
Eleventh point:
Trump is proving it’s possible to have a strong economy and a clean environment at the same time
ROFLMFAO
How is this possible when the Trump Administration has rolled back 95 environment rules?
Clean environment? Just ask the residents of Flint, MI. This claim is a joke.
President Trump has made eliminating federal regulations a priority. His administration, with help from Republicans in Congress, has often targeted environmental rules it sees as burdensome to the fossil fuel industry and other big businesses.

Twelfth point:
The U.S. is again a world leader in energy production, but Democrats would eliminate all fossil fuel production under the Green New Deal (means 10 million jobs lost and higher heating and cooling bill
This statement is not surprising coming from a man, despite the preponderance of evidence, who once believed climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese. The President has since backed away from his assertion that climate change is a hoax, but apparently feels that the threat is overstated. Wow, that’s a relief. (Hold up sarcasm sign here) So he is pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord, which is non-binding.
The Green New Deal will NOT eliminate all fossil fuel production. This is a lie. This is one of his typical scare tactics like when he says windmills (they’re actually wind turbines) cause cancer.
The 10 million number is false. According to the National Association of State Energy Officials, there are a little over 6,700,000 jobs in both energy production and energy efficiency sectors. These will not disappear especially jobs in the energy efficiency sector.
By the way, there are only about 75,000 in the coal mining sector. Oh, hey, Murray energy, the largest privately owned coal mining company just filed for bankruptcy. The reason; automation and competition from natural gas.
Robert Murray, CEO of Murray Energy is the worst climate change denier on the planet. While his company spiraled into bankruptcy, Robert Murray spent tens of millions from the company coffers to pay himself, his successor, and several anti-science and anti-environment lobby groups, according to new court filings. – source Electrek
In 2016, natural gas-fired generators accounted for 42% of the operating electricity generating capacity in the United States. Natural gas provided 34% of total electricity generation in 2016, surpassing coal to become the leading generation source. Dec 18, 2019
There is no such thing as clean coal. It’s ALL dirty!!!!
Yes, the U.S. is a world leader in energy production (mostly natural gas), but China is the largest contributor of green house gases. And the U.S. is a close second.
We’ve only got one planet. We can’t keep going like this.
It’s time to face the music.
