In the Declaration of Independence, there is a passage that reads,
“Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”
Notice that life comes before liberty.
Recently there has been large protests at some state Capital buildings demanding their governors lift the stay-at-home rules. One such took place in Lansing, Michigan where protesters blocked the access to a hospital with their cars. Hospital staff had to go out on the street and beg the protesters to move.
An article in The Guardian entitled “The rightwing groups behind wave of protests against Covid-19 restrictions” by Jason Wilson 17 April, 2020 noted,
While protesters in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and other states claim to speak for ordinary citizens, many are also supported by street-fighting rightwing groups like the Proud Boys, conservative armed militia groups, religious fundamentalists, anti-vaccination groups and other elements of the radical right.”
Going against his own guidelines to restart the economy, Donald Trump, in three separate tweets, wrote in all caps,
LIBERATE MICHIGANLIBERATE MINNESOTALIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!
In the later, Trump couldn’t resist taking a shot at the fact the Virginia State Legislature just passed seven of eight gun restriction laws. The one that failed was a ban on assault weapons. The Democrats recently won a majority in Virginia for the first time since 1993.
But let’s take a closer look at the three tweets. If you don’t see a blatant call for rebellion or violence, than you’re morally blind. These people aren’t exercising their First Amendment rights. They couldn’t give a shit.
Consider this:
When queried about the protesters, Trump demurred saying,
“These are people expressing their views, I see where they are and I see the way they’re working. They seem to be very responsible people to me, but they’ve been treated a little bit rough.”
This “very responsible people” is NO different then when he called the white supremacists in Charlottesville “very fine people.”
All of these protesters were violating safe distancing and groups no larger than ten rules and/or guidelines. Almost none wore masks and the few who did were still claiming this whole virus thing is way overblown and it’s only the flu (false). Covid-19 is anywhere from 10 to 30 times more lethal than the flu. At this writing, the death toll in the U.S. is over 37,000 which is more than all the flu deaths in 2018-2019 (34,000).

And now for the final coup de grâce, Attorney General and Trump ass-kisser said in a response to a letter from Trump allies requesting the DOJ pursue litigation against lockdown orders,
“Religious institutions must not be singled out for special burdens,”
Triiple WTF!
Two problems: Where does it say you have to be sitting in a building to worship your God? Second, “religious institutions…singled out.” What about bars, restaurants, schools, barber shops, spas, gyms, beauty parlors, gift shops, funerals, wedding receptions, birthday parties, beaches and parks – because some idiots can’t observe safe distancing.
Your religious institutions aren’t being singled out they’re part of the collective. We are ALL in this together. Again, these protesters don’t give a shit about other people’s safety; They are Trump supporters who are staging political rallies because they don’t like the grilling that Trump gets at his daily pressers.At a Trump rally, nobody gets to ask him questions.

Oh, and by the way, Trump could give shit about the American people. To him this is all about the economy. He loved it when the DOW was near 30,000. After Trump’s disastrous and ridiculous Oval Office address on Mar. 11, the DOW took one of the biggest hits since 2008. And every time he opened his big mouth, told more lies and ignorant claims, the DOW took even bigger hits on up to April.
Remember when Trump said he wanted the country open by Easter with the churches packed. Why? Because it’s about the stock market, not the people whose lives will be at risk if the country opens up too soon.
