Dear Donald Trump Supporters,
How dare you.
I am outraged.
I am livid.
I am incensed.
I can’t type fast enough to tell you how angry I am.
Why?
Never in the history of this country has a sitting president labeled the free press the “enemy of the people.”
As Republican Senator Jeff Flake lamented,
“Mr. President, it is a testament to the condition of our democracy that our own president uses words infamously spoken by Josef Stalin to describe his enemies.”
There has never been ”fake news” until Donald Trump came along.
Why?
Because he is a petulant, infantile megalomaniac who can‘t fathom any criticism.
His ad hominem attacks on the media are calculated to divert attention away from his incompetence and unfitness for office.
When you (Trump supporters) invoke the “fake news” argument you are shooting yourselves in the foot. Your argument is hollow and specious, and, sadly, you can’t see that. It’s a cop-out, and it’s empty of any validity.
Fox News is not the gospel, and I am tired trying to explain to you that the ass-kissers at Fox News do not inform but misinform.
Then there is:
“I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” – Donald Trump, January 20, 2017.
And there is this,
“All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing” – Edmund Burke
All patriotic Americans must resist any attacks on the fundamental institutions of our country.
The institution of a free press is instrumental for a democracy to survive. When Donald Trump attacks the free press, he attacks the very Constitution he swore to protect.
Can’t you people see how dangerous that is? Are you that blind?
How dare you enjoy the right of free speech,
- the freedom to practice your religion and to worship freely,
- the right to vote,
- the freedom to travel,
- the freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The Constitution gives you these rights and liberties. Don’t let one man try to take them away from you. Don’t blindly follow him like lemmings into the sea.
